Who we are

StoryRoom is operated by WisGen AI, Sydney, Australia. You can reach us at info@wisgen.ai. These terms are the agreement between you and us about your use of StoryRoom. By using it, you accept them.

What StoryRoom does

StoryRoom reads photographs of handwritten pages, transcribes recordings, holds typed text, and puts the three together as one story you can edit and publish. It is a machine reading: often very good, sometimes wrong. Read what it gives you before you rely on it.

Your account

StoryRoom is an invitation-only beta today. When signup opens, it is one account per person — the free page is one per account, and accounts created to collect more free pages will be closed.

An account can hold more than one person: a family, a class, an archive. Everyone in an account can see and edit that account's stories. You decide who you invite, and you are responsible for what they do there. Keep your sign-in details to yourself.

What it costs

You buy credit before you read, and nothing recurs — there is no subscription and no monthly minimum.

• Your first page is free. One page, read once.
• Top up from US$10. Card payments are handled by Stripe and charged in US dollars.
• A page costs from about 6 US cents. Heavily corrected pages cost more, and so does the close look we take for small crossings-out. Every reading shows its own price.
• Credit never expires. Unused credit is refunded on request — see Refunds.

If prices change we post the change here with its date, and it applies from that date onward. It never applies to a reading you have already paid for.

Your content

Your pages, recordings, text and corrections stay yours. We take only the licence we need to run the service for you: to store your content, to show it back to you, to send page images to the AI model that reads them and audio to the transcription service, and to keep every version of a reading so that correcting a page never destroys what came before it.

We do not train anything on your content unless you ask us to. Two consent boxes are offered when an account is created, both unticked; the Privacy Policy explains exactly what each one means and how to change your mind.

Acceptable use

Upload only content that is lawful and that you have the right to upload. Do not try to reach another account's data, do not work around the limits of the service, do not run automated bulk reading through it, and do not resell it. We may suspend an account that does any of these.

Availability

This is a beta. The service is provided as it is, with no guarantee of uptime, and we may change or withdraw parts of it while we build. Every version of every reading is kept — but keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law, or any other right that cannot be excluded by agreement. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. A reading that is imperfect is not a fault of that kind: it is a machine reading, and it is yours to correct.

Closing an account

You can close your account at any time by writing to info@wisgen.ai. Unused credit is refunded as described on the Refunds page. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and we will tell you why where we are able to.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms from time to time and post the new version here with the date at the top. When a change matters to you — price, your rights, how your content is used — we will say so plainly rather than bury it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales have jurisdiction.
